Introduction

In March 2019, the City of Sarnia entered into an agreement with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) for a grant of up to $125,000 to be used to undertake the development of a Climate Change Adaptation Plan over a two-year period. The project will be managed by Planning staff of the Community Development Services and Standards Department.

In Year 1 of the project (March 2019 – February 2020), the City will complete a Vulnerability and Risk Assessment report to identify the impacts of climate change on the City’s natural and physical assets, and a draft Climate Change Adaptation Plan will be prepared.

In Year 2 of the project (March 2020 – February 2012), the Climate Change Adaptation Plan will be finalized and Plan implementation will begin.
