The Engineering Department is responsible for the design and construction of roads, sewers, waterlines and related works within the City. In addition, the department is responsible for: curb and gutter repairs, sidewalk repairs, site servicing reviews, street lighting and traffic signals, signage and Municipal Drains under the Provincial Drainage Act.
Public Works
The Public Works Department maintains the water, sewer and road systems as well as operating two sewage facilities within the City. Public Works also administers the contracts for garbage collection and recycling, and maintains the City’s fleet.

Sarnia Transit
Sarnia Transit operates and maintains a fleet of 25 buses on the conventional transit system and operates 6 specialized vehicles on the Care-a-Van service.
